Ok… there is so much amp one guy have (according to Missus Sanders). Buying two First Watt amps in a week was asking for trouble…
This amp is the second model that Nelson Pass did release after starting First Watt. These models (pre 2016) were hand built by Nelson Pass himself. Cool fact if you’re a Pass fanboy like me. Absolutely irrelevant if you’re not.
Only 100 were ever built.
The catch? It’s only 5 watts. It’s a transconductance amp designed mainly for crossoverless, full range single driver (Lowthers, Voxativ, AER, etc.). It will work on high efficiency speakers like Klipsch Heritage (96dB and above) but the damping factor may be a bit low. So if you’re into full range high efficiancy speakers, look no further. You want this amp. If you’re in the Sonus Faber crowd, don’t even think about it.
Oh! It’s also a FANTASTIC headphone amp.
