Leema Acoustics Tucana Mk 1

Further Information: For sale is my Leema Acoustics Tucana Mk 1 integrated amplifier.  Amplifier is in excellent operating condition and very good cosmetic condition.  I’ve tried to show the couple of minor blemishes in the photos.

I am the third owner.  I have not needed to have the unit serviced during the year that I’ve owned the unit, however I understand that the previous owner had it serviced and re-capped by Tuned In Audio.

A quick google search will reveal a high end integrated that is solidly built to say the least, with its dual mono construction including the use of a separate toroidal transformer for each channel.   This yields a high current amplifier capable of driving demanding loads.  I’ve attached a photo of the spec sheet from the operating manual that indicates peak current of 50A and a minimum load impedance of 2 ohms to go with its 148 watts into 8 ohms and 285 watts into 4.  I’m looking into selling as all that current isn’t quite the right fit for my Harbeth Super HL5 Plus loudspeakers, which never dip far below 8 ohms.  However it could be a good match with a different speaker. 

The Mk 2 anniversary version of this amp is being advertised for over $11K at the time of writing so I’m hopeful that prospective buyers will consider my asking price reasonable.

I have the operating manual but no original packaging or power chord.  I’m happy to organise shipping and insurance via Pack and Send at the cost and risk of the purchaser.
