Further Information:
These arrived from A2A this arvo. Bought 'em 'for the ergonomics: they're old school deep-insertion IEMs with narrow nozzles that take Shure triple-flange silicone tips (the only universal tips that work for me apart from Etymotic's triple-flanges). They've got cute, diminutive, bean-shaped shells that rest nicely in the concha.
Soooper comfy for me, more so than Etymotic and Shure universals. Probably the comfiest universal I've tried.
Stock cable isn't bad, ergonomically. Actually, it's good.
Also, to my ears, these Westones are far less rolled-off in the treble than the Shure SE846 (even with Shure's "bright" filter), and while their bass isn't as whomp-y as the SE846, overall they're more balanced, and I prefer them. Still quite warm and phat to my ears, though they do take to EQ if you prefer a more clarity-focussed presentation.
Thing is, years of Etymotic, Shure KSE1200, and more recently the Sennheiser IE900 have conditioned me to prefer a more neutral-bright tuning, so these aren't to my liking, but they might suit you well.
